Designers and creators of all kinds use Pantone’s “color match” to find perfect color schemes for their projects, but Pantone needed a new way to stay relevant with a new generation of makers focused on digital design.
The challenge was to help designers capture color in their daily lives and bring it into their workflow.
With Pantone Studio, we built an app that let designers sample color in the real world with their phone’s camera and have it automatically matched to Pantone’s library of more than 10,000 colors.
We also included tools such as Pantone Color Institute trends & forecasting, profiles on leading artists, color of the year, and imagery from Pantone Canvas.
And, of course, social integration: Pantone Studio let creators try out their color palettes on 3D renderings in-app, then share creations with clients and on social networks.
We wanted to make color consideration easier, no matter a designer’s discipline, experience level, or device.
Pantone Studio became a robust tool that made it easy for designers of all kinds to capture colors out in the real world to use in their everyday work, acting as a portable eyedropper. For many designers, the tool helped completely redefine the process they use to discover new colors and palettes, as well as simplifying collaboration with clients and co-workers.
Pantone Studio makes our tools and services more accessible and easier to use.
